Dana Goldberg joined the Carey community in 2008. In addition to her role as Director of Admission she assists fifth grade families with the middle school placement process. A San Francisco native, Dana returned home after college and worked as the Admissions Associate at Lick-Wilmerding High School for three years before becoming the Founding Director of Admission for The Jewish Community High School of the Bay (JCHS). At JCHS, she helped start the school, developed the admissions program from scratch and brought in the first classes of students to JCHS. She has enjoyed coaching the girl’s volleyball and basketball teams at each school.
Most recently, Dana worked as a private admission consultant in the Bay Area, assisting eighth grade families with independent high school placement. She holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Education with a concentration in Organization and Leadership from The University of San Francisco and a B.A in American Studies from Occidental College, where she played Division III intercollegiate volleyball and currently serves as Alumni Class Secretary.
Dana is a member of the Board of Trustees at Katherine Delmar Burke School in San Francisco and, while serving as Chair of the Mission Statement Review Committee, led all efforts to re-write the School’s mission during the 2010-2011 academic year. In addition, Dana has served as Co-Chair of the Young Adult Leadership Committee at San Francisco’s Congregation Emanu-El. She loves playing competitive volleyball and is a San Francisco Giants fanatic, through thick and through thin. Dana is known for her professionalism, commitment to life-long learning, and warmth of character.
