Karena Martin is in her 12th year of teaching at The Carey School. She loves co-teaching with Katie Semien in Pre-K.  Karena is a graduate from the University of Idaho with a BS in Elementary Education.  She enjoys continuing her education by attending local workshops and taking classes at San Francisco State University or UC Berkley.  This summer, Karena attended the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance conference in Monterey, CA which has inspired her to incorporate Reggio into the Pre-K classroom.

Karena was raised in Moscow, Idaho where she frequently visits during the summer months with her family.  Now a resident of San Jose, CA she spends her time off taking her son to parks, museums, sporting events, and the gym.  Karena is looking forward to another great year at Carey and can’t wait to see what her new class has to offer.
