After growing up in Walnut Creek, Neely received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from UC Davis and a California teaching credential from St. Mary’s College of Moraga. Neely then taught kindergarten at Seven Hills, an independent preschool through eighth grade school in Walnut Creek.

While developing curriculum and serving on committees, like the alternate compensation committee and the CAIS/WASC accreditation steering committee, Neely developed an interest in Educational Leadership. Neely pursued this interest through the Klingenstein program and received an MA in Private School Leadership at Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Mesmerized by the sights and sounds of Manhattan, Neely stayed in New York and taught first grade at Claremont Preparatory School in the financial district. California, however, is home and Neely is glad to have returned to her family, friends and the sunshine in the bay area. Eager to work in a child-centered, collaborative environment, Neely is proud to be a member of the Carey community.
