Join us at Let’s Play where we believe play is the best teacher! Our engaging play-based activities are created to spark curiosity and inspire exploration for all campers. A week at Let's Play includes STEM and art projects inspired by our weekly themes, endless games and outdoor activities, and all of our weekly highlights from Park Day to Water Day. Campers will look forward to fresh and exciting activities each day, while embracing the traditions that define the Camp Carey experience. At the end of each week, campers will have a blast at our Friday Funday assembly, showcasing what they've created, enjoying silly competitions, and participating in a camp-wide celebration! Each session of camp offers a new and interesting theme to keep campers coming back for more!

Session 1: Secret Garden
Dig into a magical world where nature thrives and gardens bloom! In this enchanting session, campers will explore the wonders of the natural world by planting seeds, nurturing growth, and discovering the creatures that call the garden home. Along the way, they'll learn about the vital role of pollinators like bees and butterflies and uncover how plants and animals work together to create a healthy environment. Through imaginative and hands-on projects, campers will dream up their very own secret garden. This week's special guests will be the animals from Little Explorers Petting Zoo, giving campers a chance to meet a variety of friendly creatures up close!
Session 2: Recipe for Fun (NO CAMP on Friday, July 4)
Who says you shouldn’t play with your food? In this camp, we’ll chop, cook, and taste our way through a variety of food-themed projects and activities. Young chefs will use food to explore math, science, art, and world trivia, making this week as educational as it is delicious! Bring your appetite for a mouthwatering adventure filled with sweet and savory fun. Campers will also enjoy a hands-on cooking class with special guests, Junior Chef Stars, who will teach us all about happy, healthy eating. Whether you’re a master chef or just curious about cuisines, the Camp Carey Kitchen is the place to be!
Session 3: Build It!
It’s time to think big and build even bigger! Get ready for a week packed with designing, building, and testing using simple, everyday materials. Campers will dive into hands-on experiments to spark teamwork, problem-solving, and imagination. From crafting basic structures to creating simple machines, this week is all about innovation and critical thinking. Our special guest will be a Camp Carey favorite: the Try It Truck from Bay Area Discovery Museum! Unleash your inner engineer and explore the endless possibilities of crafting and constructing with minimal materials and maximum creativity!
Session 4: Paws & Claws
Bring your best animal facts to this wild week of camp! Whether you’re an animal lover or simply curious about the creatures that share our world, this session is sure to be paw-some. Campers will explore the wonders of the animal kingdom through a variety of exciting games and activities. Throughout the week, we’ll learn about the unique traits, adaptations, habitats, and behaviors of different species—from furry friends to feathered and scaly critters. Stay tuned for details on a special guest or event that will bring animals up close and personal, giving campers the opportunity to meet and learn about some amazing creatures firsthand!
Session 5: Journey to the Center of the Earth
Get ready to embark on an underground adventure where exploration and discovery collide! This week, campers will travel deep beneath the Earth's surface, uncovering the layers of our planet and the mysterious wonders that lie beneath. From volcanoes and crystal formations to fossils and caves, each hands-on experiment and activity will help campers dig into the geology that shapes our world. Our special guest, CaveSim, will provide a taste of real spelunking with their interactive, mobile caving experience. Ready to dig deep and discover the wonders beneath your feet? Let’s journey to the center of the Earth!
Session 6: Summer Splash
Dive into a week of wet and wild adventures filled with water, fun, and summer vibes! Campers will cool off with water-based activities like games, relay races, and hands-on science and art projects. We’ll design sea crafts, build sandcastles, create spray art, toss water balloons, and explore cool concepts like buoyancy and cloud formation. Our special guest, The Foam Crew, will deliver a unique, interactive foam party experience – creating a bubbly, cloud-like atmosphere for a soaking good time! Ready to let your imagination set sail? Session 7: Galaxy Quest
Blast off into an intergalactic adventure with Galaxy Quest week! Campers will explore the wonders of space through hands-on activities, creative challenges, and cosmic discoveries. From designing rocket ships and crafting constellations to experimenting with the forces of gravity, this week is packed with stellar fun. If you like astronauts, space suits, aliens, and moonwalking, then this is the mission for you!
