We know that fifth graders have a positive approach to life and need to feel a sense of personal agency.
By fifth grade, they have mastered core literacy and numeracy skills, and we offer plenty of opportunities to apply those skills in increasingly abstract ways through integrated projects and units.
Students learn to:
- Take on different leadership roles throughout the school and with each other
- Appreciate different forms of leadership
- Articulate their strengths and areas of growth
- Engage in self-reflection, self-assessment, self-advocacy and self-direction.
