Fourth Grade
We know that fourth grade is a time of growth and change.
Students want support from peers rather than adults; seek independence; can empathize and see perspectives; can think independently and critically; are influenced by peer standards; and learn how to advocate for themselves and their learning.
Students learn to:
-
Problem solve in various settings
-
Mindfully self-monitor
-
Use evidence to support ideas
-
Work collaboratively on an academic goal
-
Make connections between themselves and classroom content in order to assess decision making and outcomes
-
Engage in a variety of different academic conversations
-
Build awareness of their strengths and challenges for self-empowerment
