Fourth Grade

We know that fourth grade is a time of growth and change.

Students want support from peers rather than adults; seek independence; can empathize and see perspectives; can think independently and critically; are influenced by peer standards; and learn how to advocate for themselves and their learning. 

Students learn to:

  • Problem solve in various settings 

  • Mindfully self-monitor

  • Use evidence to support ideas

  • Work collaboratively on an academic goal 

  • Make connections between themselves and classroom content in order to assess decision making and outcomes

  • Engage in a variety of different academic conversations

  • Build awareness of their strengths and challenges for self-empowerment
