Gary is the parent of one Carey student. Gary has served on the Development, Finance, and Buildings & Grounds Committees. He has previously served as Annual Fund Chair, Carey Walkfest Co-chair, part of a Carey Mentor Family, and has helped with class auction projects. Gary is an active participant in Carey Dads’ Night Out gatherings. Gary previously worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in New York and currently works in investment management at Franklin Templeton in San Mateo. Gary is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS and MBA In Finance from the Wharton School and a BS in Engineering.

Jean is the parent of two current Carey students and one alumni. This is her second year as Vice President, and she serves on the Executive, Development, Strategy/Communications and Trustee Committees. Jean has also been President and Vice President of the CSPA, has had lead roles on Auction and Walkfest, and has served as Annual Class Ambassador and room parent. Jean previously worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and human capital consulting at Towers Perrin. She has been active with other nonprofit organizations including serving as VP of Development on the Parca Auxiliary Board as well as serving on the Boards of the Burlingame Library Foundation and Burlingame Mothers Club. Jean received her M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in economics and psychology from Wesleyan University.

Caroline is the mother of two Carey students.  She grew up in North Carolina and is a graduate of Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in history.  She also earned her MBA from The Wharton School. 

 

She has nearly twenty years of experience in asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment manager research. Currently, Caroline is the Senior Investment Strategist for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role, she is the portfolio manager for several mutual funds and helps make tactical investment decisions across all client portfolios for BNY Mellon worldwide.

 

Caroline enjoys being active in the Carey community. She has volunteered as a Room Parent, an Annual Fund Ambassador, an Admissions Office Volunteer, a Mentor to new incoming families, and as a co-host of the Carey Sleepover Pay-to-Play.  Caroline and her family love being at Carey and feel lucky to be part of this joyful community.

Jennifer, the parent of a current Carey School student in second grade, received a BA from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard University. She was born and raised in a small, rural town in Ohio.

Jennifer was the CEO of Kinsights, a digital health startup focused on pediatrics, which was acquired by Care.com. Earlier in her career, she built and launched media products at several tech companies and spent five years at Genentech, where she led physician marketing and strategy for a lymphoma drug.

She is currently a co-chair for the Carey School Community Events Committee. She is also involved in several other Bay Area nonprofits as the Vice-Chair, Board of Directors of the SF SPCA and the Chair for Common Sense Media’s Silicon Valley Advisory Council.

Lydia is the mother of two Carey student and two alums. She graduated from Tufts University with a BA in International Relations and Spanish, received her MD from UC Davis School of Medicine and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco where she also served as Chief Resident, on the Admission Committee and helped organize community outreach providing medical care to San Francisco's indigent population. Lydia is Board certified in Internal Medicine as well as a diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She is Board President of her children's Greek School. Lydia is a Trustee on the Board of the Obesity Medicine Association where she Chairs the Bylaws Task Force, sits on the Ethics Committee, assists with new trustee onboarding and acts as Board Liaison for Organizational Outreach. Lydia works part-time in the Medical Weight Management program at Kaiser. During her decade plus tenure as a Carey parent, she has been a room parent many times over, chaired the CSPA Community Events team organizing the Carey Family Jam, school-wide bowling, roller-skating and camping trips, built class websites and worked on auction projects.  Lydia has co-chaired the Annual Fund, Diversity & Inclusion Task Force and Committee on Trustees as part of her work on the Board.  In her free time, Lydia is becoming certified as a medical chef, loves to read, run, travel and lecture on Lifestyle & Obesity Medicine.

Heidi is the proud mother of two Carey students. She has been a room parent, is co-leading the 2017 Spaghetti dinner, is an active member of the Caring at Carey Committee (CAC), and has co-led CAC's annual service learning inspired project with Hands on Bay Area and Los Cerritos School in South San Francisco. Her family has also mentored new families.

Heidi has a chemistry degree from Wellesley College. She was also inducted into Wellesley's Athletics Hall of Fame for fencing. She has an M.A in Learning, Design and Technology from Stanford's Graduate School of Education, and is a learning experience design consultant, helping teams to tackle their biggest questions in learning interactions and innovations.

Robert, the parent of three children at Carey, received his B.A. from Princeton University in economics with a concentration in math. He is the CEO of Tora Holdings, a leading provider of software and financial services to hedge funds. Robert has spent over 15 years in the software industry holding executive positions in several start-up and early stage companies in Europe, North America, and Asia. He began his career at Deloitte working in various positions in audit, consulting, and mergers & acquisitions groups. Robert is also on the Board of Directors & Finance Committee of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, which promotes and develops the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competition, and academic excellence through amateur football.

Miguel, the parent of one current Carey student and one Carey alum, received his B.B.A. in finance with a concentration in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Miguel was born in London, England, and raised in Houston, Texas, but has called California home for many years. Miguel is currently a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Nomura Securities, based in San Francisco, where he covers private equity firms on the west coast with a focus on capital raising and strategic advisory work. He is also leading the build-out of a broader investment banking presence on the West Coast for Nomura. Prior to joining Nomura in 2014, Miguel spent 15 years at Morgan Stanley, the last 13 of which were in the San Francisco office leading coverage of the private equity community on the West Coast. Prior to business school Miguel spent two years with Morgan Stanley in London covering oil and gas companies in the UK, Continental Europe, and Russia.

Mina was born and raised in the Bay Area. Mina has three children and has always been actively involved serving on the Boards of each of her children's schools.

She holds a BA in Economics and Human Biology Minor from Stanford University and an MD from UCLA.

Mina worked almost 7 years as attending medical physician at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Comprehensive Care Program and now maintains a full-time clinic serving the uninsured population in San Mateo County. Mina continues to maintain her ties to Stanford as a clinical instructor for an annual course at Stanford School of Medicine Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program. 

She has served Carey as a room parent, new family mentor, and one of the parent organizers of Carey's Health and Wellness Fair.

She is inspired by the dedicated leaders, teachers and parents who make Carey the magical place it is, and is honored to help serve the school's mission through her involvement on the Board.

Lindsay has three boys, two who are currently at The Carey School and one alum.  She is currently the spirit committee co-chair where she plans the school spirit rallies and loves to see the children cheering, laughing and screaming for their beloved mascot, Feathers.  She has also served as the enrichment days liaison, faculty and administration appreciation chair, room parent, and as a Carey mentor family. 

Lindsay has a finance degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and is currently a consultant to several enterprise technology companies designing, implementing and facilitating various leadership development programs and processes.  Lindsay has over 18 years experience executing such programs for some of the fastest growing and highly respected companies around the globe.

Jack and his wife Nina are excited to join the “Three for Carey” club – with all three children at Carey next year.

Jack and Nina manage Sage Eldercare Solutions, an eldercare practice focused on care management, home care services, and therapeutic activities for older adults. He is a founding board member and former Treasurer of the San Francisco Village www.SFVillage.orgwhich today includes over 300 members.

Jack earned his B.A. from Brown University and his MBA from Stanford University. His interests include yoga, tennis, mountaineering and anything related to the French culture (wine, in particular).

Eric J. Kim is the parent of 2 Carey students (with another waiting in the wings). Prior to joining the board, Eric has served on the CSPA executive team and as an annual fund ambassador. 

Eric is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Goodwater Capital, a consumer technology focused venture capital firm with investments spanning North America, Europe and Asia. Eric previously held positions as a Managing Director with Maverick Capital, founding executive of two technology companies, and consultant with McKinsey & Company. A classically trained cellist, Eric received his B.A. from Yale University where he was a member of the Grammy-nominated Yale Cellos and continues to serve as a board trustee for the St. Thomas More Chapel & Center at Yale University.  Eric also received his M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and serves on the advisory board of the Johns Hopkins Alliance for Science and Technology.

Allison is the mother of two energetic Carey School students. She is currently the President of the Carey School Parents Association (CSPA), a member of the Walkfest Spirit Rally Team and a new family mentor. She also served as Vice-President of the CSPA for two years and co-chaired the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee.

Allison has been active in many other nonprofit organizations including serving on the boards of The Little Jim Club of California Pacific Medical Center, Burlingame Mother’s Club and the Parca Auxiliary.

Allison received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara and has a background in marketing and non-profit development.

Kathy is the Associate Head for Finance and Operations of Castilleja School. She previously served as the Head of School at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an independent boarding/day school in Minnesota, where she was instrumental in leading the development of a new master campus plan, launching the Engineering Center of Excellence Program, and overseeing the growth of innovative pedagogies such as blended learning and design thinking. Prior to Shattuck, she worked at Oregon Episcopal School in Portland, OR, for seven years as the CFO and Interim Head of School. Before focusing on schools, she spent a number of years in the private sector as a CFO. She received her BA from Stanford University and MBA from Yale.

Julie is the mother of 3 children at Carey. She has served on the CSPA Executive Committee as President and Vice President, as an Annual Fund Ambassador, on the Carey Mentor Committee, the technical team of the Carey Auction, and as a dedicated Room Parent. Julie and her family especially enjoy the strong sense of community, commitment, and learning that radiate from the families, faculty, and the administration. She and her family have made so many great friends so far. Her kids love everything about Carey, and she will funnel that love and energy into her role on the Board and in serving the school.

Bill Lenihan is the parent of two children at the Carey School and is the proud coach of the boy’s 2nd Grade flag football team and the girl’s 4th grade basketball team.  

Bill holds a degree in Business and Economics from UCLA and an MBA from The Wharton School. 

He is currently President of Off Grid Electric, a roof top solar company bringing energy solutions to Africa and other emerging markets.  Prior to Off Grid Electric, he spent 15 years as a private equity investor at Goldman Sachs and Calera Capital.

Mike is the father of two Carey students (Pre-K & 1st Grade). He has served as an Annual Fund Class Ambassador and as part of a Carey mentor family. 

Professionally, Mike has founded and worked in several Silicon Valley start-ups, is an active advisor and, in a previous life, practiced corporate law in Manhattan for several years. 

He has a BA in Economics from Wittenberg University, a JD from Capital University Law School and an LLM (International Law) from Georgetown University Law Center. He is coach of his son's baseball team, an avid golfer and a bad guitar player.

Curt is the parent of two boys, a 2nd grader and three month old. He holds degrees in Communication and Business Economics from University of California at Santa Barbara. 

He leads the strategic partnership group at a Fortune 200 company.

Curt has served on various Carey committees and has also been a room parent and mentor family.

Kim is a mother of two Carey students and one alumni. She received her B.A. from Dartmouth College and her M.A. from University of San Francisco in counseling psychology. After several years in marketing and advertising, Kim switched gears to education. She taught fourth and fifth grade at the Phillips Brooks School in Menlo Park, CA. Currently, Kim is the President of Coyotes Lacrosse where she coaches and manages a youth lacrosse program for mid Peninsula children. Prior to her role on the Board, Kim volunteered with the Capital Campaign, as an Annual Fund Ambassador, Teacher Appreciation CoChair, new family mentor and room parent.

Lindsay is a busy mother of three.  Her two older children attend Carey and she looks forward to the day when all three kids will be at Carey.  She currently is a room parent as well as a new family mentor.  

Lindsay received her B.A in History from the University of Pennsylvania and her teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur University.  Before having kids, Lindsay taught third grade at the Carey School and is thrilled to be part of the Carey community again.

Kelly Sortino is the Head of Upper School at Crystal Springs Uplands School, a role she has held since 2012. She joined CSUS in 2009 as the Director of College Counseling and has worked in education as an Admission Officer at Princeton University, a public school English teacher, and a curriculum specialist. She has also worked in the private sector as a strategist for Google and a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. Kelly holds an M.B.A. and M.A.Ed. from Stanford University and an A.B. in art history and certificate in teacher preparation from Princeton University.

Consuela is the mother of two Carey students. She is a room parent and has volunteered as a parent panelist on Admission tours. 

A native San Franciscan, she earned her Bachelor of Science in biology from Clark Atlanta University.  Consuela has been in the biotech industry for 18 years and serves as the Head of Regulatory Affairs for a biotech start-up.

Sarah is the proud mother of one Carey student and one Carey graduate. Sarah joined the Carey community in 2014 after relocating to the Bay Area from New York. She has thoroughly enjoyed working with the CSPA in various roles. Sarah has been a room parent, co-chair at Caring at Carey, Annual fund class ambassador, Health and wellness chair, Auction committee member and helped with class auction projects.

Sarah is an M.D., and has also holds an MPH from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. Before moving back to New York, Sarah worked as a health consultant and practiced medicine in Pakistan. She is currently an independent healthcare consultant. Sarah has been inspired by her childrens' experience at Carey and she would like to bring that passion, along with her professional experience, for the advancement of the Carey School mission.
