Spotlight on Carey

CAC Garden Project at Roosevelt Elementary, Redwood City
October 28, 2014

Around 80 people from the Carey Community – parents and kids, including the 4th grade Girl Scout troop – participated in the garden project at Roosevelt Elementary School, as well as about 20 parents and kids from Roosevelt. It was a great day and wonderful to see everyone working together to improve this school in our community. Roosevelt was thrilled that their garden and surrounding spaces were made more functional, and therefore beneficial, for their students.

A few of our accomplishments included: painting a wall mural outside the garden, building and painting tables and benches for the garden, general clean up and removal of old, dead and overgrown plants and planting new flowers, native plants and an apple tree!

Thank you again Carey Community for your hard work and enthusiasm!
