Inspiring spaces for learning
At Carey, we’ve designed our campus to help our students feel comfortable and do their best. Modern construction and natural light create a warm and inviting environment inside, while green spaces beckon students out.
Step inside our classrooms and you’ll see welcoming displays of student perspective, creativity, and teamwork. But we also move our classwork outside for extra learning, fun, and a breath of fresh air. Storytime in the garden, science experiments in the amphitheater, a social studies conversation on the grass…with a clear sky and a teacher’s vision, we can take our learning anywhere.
Technology at the ready
Our teachers are well-versed in using technology to support elementary learning. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, connectivity, and accessible laptops – and our Thinkering Lab offers extra space for hands-on problem solving. Our goal is to offer balanced learning for the 21st century by blending the best of traditional tools and modern technology.
Throughout the year, we take students on the road through a series of developmentally appropriate field trips. Breaking with our daily routines, we complement in-class curricula with safe explorations of our local community to give our students a new perspective. Recent outings include trips to art museums, farms, performing arts groups, the California Gold country, and outdoor education camps. Many of these trips become our students’ annual favorites.
